MPAQ has been recently made aware of members receiving scam and phishing attacks through email.
These potential scammers are falsely advertising the contact list of MPAQ for a nominated price.
At MPAQ, we take the protection of our member information very seriously and we adhere to industry standards regarding data protection to ensure that your information is handled in accordance with legal requirements. Our privacy policy covers how we collect, use, and disclose personal information of members, event attendees, and partners of MPAQ.
We want to reassure members that their information is secure and we do not distribute these to unlicensed third party without members’ consent.
It’s imperative that you do not engage with these emails or any associated links. Responding to such emails confirms that your email address is valid and could result in serious security breaches and compromise the confidentiality of our data. We recommend members not to use their work emails to register for or log in to untrusted websites to lessen the risk of attacks and scam emails.
This phishing attack has been escalated to ACCC and our security provider for further investigations. In the meantime, we recommend members to bring any other scams like these to our attention so we can take action.
