Queensland’s Minister for Energy, Renewables and Hydrogen, the Hon. Mick de Brenni MP dropped in to visit Maryborough on Monday 6 February 2023 to discuss the issues facing plumbers and businesses in the region. MPAQ members Kimber Plumbing and Peart Plumbing were given the opportunity to discuss licensing, job opportunities, and upcoming opportunities for local businesses in the Wide Bay region in relation to the future scope of projects happening in the area.
Minister de Brenni also met with the apprentices within the businesses—one of them, Bella, the first female 3rd year apprentice at Maryborough. The Minister discussed the initiatives of the elected government to reinvigorate the Manufacturing and Renewables sector and bringing it back to Queensland. Maryborough was highlighted as a key area for manufacturing, which should create further jobs for its locals.
MPAQ would also like to thank Jess Manager of Reece Maryborough and the team for accommodating the brief visit by the Minister.
